UK in force at Petrotech 2019

A delegation of eleven leading oil and gas companies from the UK are visiting New Delhi for Petrotech 2019 this week from 10 to 12 February.

This was published under the 2016 to 2019 May Conservative government
DIT stand at Petrotech.

Petrotech is a biennial platform for national and international experts in the oil & gas industry – allowing them to exchange views, knowledge and expertise. This year’s theme is ‘Shaping the New Energy World through Innovation and Collaboration’ and discussion will explore areas of future growth such as petrochemicals and natural gas.

The UK has a wealth of experience in these areas; its oil and gas industry is known for its world class technical expertise and ability to pioneer innovative technologies. The industry is widely regarded in particular as a technological leader in subsea operations and deep water experience.

A UK Pavilion during the conference will showcase new technologies like Deepwater Development, Downstream Projects, Reservoir Management, Decommissioning etc. from UK companies such as:

  • Lloyd’s Register
  • Aberdeen Drilling School
  • Expro North Sea
  • XL Group
  • Vee Bee Filtration
  • ALE Heavylift, Santane
  • Defence Door Systems
  • Destec Engineering
  • Cabot Specialty Fluids Ltd.

Such innovative solutions and services could enhance the efficiency of Indian companies and projects.

The visit of this delegation follows a recent study which identified major areas of technology and services exchange between the UK and India – with key opportunities ranging from cutting edge upstream service providers to pipeline integrity companies.

Rhiannon Harries, UK Director for Trade and Innovation in South Asia, said:

The UK India partnership is strong and that is particularly apparent in the oil and gas sector. The UK has been the largest G20 investor in India since 2010, with significant oil and gas projects and increasing interest in renewable technologies.

I hope that by bringing a British business delegation together with leading industry in Delhi, we can explore some of the many opportunities to strengthen our commercial ties further. Building further on the collaboration between the UK and India in the oil and gas sector has the potential to increase prosperity and growth in both our nations.

Also central to the PETROTECH event will be a ‘UK Technology and Innovation Workshop’ on Tuesday, 12 February – which will see UK companies share recent case studies on technology and innovation in the UK’s oil and gas sector.

Further information:

Indian oil and gas companies who are looking for technology partners can visit the UK Pavilion for B2B meetings with delegates from the UK. The Pavilion is at India Expo Mart at Hall No. 1 Stall No. A17-A18.
