Alan Over
Biography
Alan Over was appointed Director General Major Rail Projects Group in the Department for Transport (DfT) on 1 April 2024.
From 2018 to 2024, Alan worked on HS2.
Prior to that, Alan worked on complex commercial, major programme leadership and policy roles across government, including defence and security, education, home affairs and energy.
Director General Major Rail Projects Group
The Director General Major Rail Projects Group leads the department’s sponsorship of HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail. They work closely with HS2 Ltd and Network Rail to improve connectivity between our biggest cities and regions in support of economic growth.
