Joanne Cappa-Gunduz MVO

Biography

Joanne Cappa-Gunduz joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2003.

She worked in London on UK-Japan relations before moving to Europe Directorate for the 2005 UK Presidency of the EU. Her first posting was to Vilnius, Lithuania, where she was awarded an MVO (Member of the Victorian Order) from Her Majesty The Queen following the 2006 State Visit to Lithuania.

After a spell in London in Conflict Department, covering international peace-building she was posted to Ankara where she covered Turkey’s relations with third countries before moving to Rome to take up her position as Deputy Head of Mission, British Embassy to the Holy See.

She is married to Onur Gündüz.
