Roderick Drummond

Biography

Roderick Drummond was appointed His Majesty’s British Ambassador to Tunisia in September 2024. Prior to this appointment, he was the Ambassador to Bahrain from 2019 to 2024.

Drummond joined the Diplomatic Service in 1985. Some of his previous postings in the Middle East and North Africa region include:

  • Riyadh - Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General from 2009 to 2013
  • Doha- Head of Mission, Charge d’Affaire 2007 to 2008
  • Damascus - Deputy Head of Mission from 2004 to 2007
  • Amman - Deputy Head of Mission from 2002 to 2004
  • Algiers - Second Secretary Political/ Economic/Press from 1988 to 1992

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the embassy and its consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
