The 2018 electoral integrity pilots underpin the government’s commitment to deliver measures to improve the integrity and security of our elections. Sir Eric Pickles in his review of electoral fraud recommended electors having to produce identification before voting. He also recommended that guidance should be provided in postal ballot packs on the secrecy of the vote and how to report electoral fraud. The 2018 pilots tested options for voter ID and measures to protect the integrity of the postal vote process.
