This toolkit will help local authorities make informed decisions on water fluoridation and the process to follow should they wish to implement, vary or terminate a scheme.

Water fluoridation is one of a range of safe and effective measures to improve oral health and help reduce tooth decay in local populations.

Decisions on water fluoridation are the responsibility of local authorities and this toolkit will support their public health teams with advice and information.
