Mexico prosperity fund evaluation report 2020

This report evaluates a programme to support economic development to reduce poverty in Mexico, and increase prosperity and security there and, in turn, in the UK.

This is the first evaluation review of the Prosperity Fund Mexico Programme. The Cycle 2 (2019 to 2020) evaluation took place from January to May 2020. It includes engagement, capacity, management and governance, reflecting the learning priorities of the programme team.

The progamme started in 2017, aiming to reduce poverty by promoting greater inclusive growth in Mexico. The scope of the evaluation reflects this and looks at whether the programme’s structures and the ways in which it engages with stakeholders are likely to optimise future results.

The Mexico Prosperity Fund programme includes n the energy, future cities, financial services and anti-corruption and rule of law sectors. It aims to reduce poverty and gender inequality in Mexico, complemented by other global Prosperity Fund Programmes. At the same time improved economic development and the opening of new markets will present opportunities for international and UK businesses.
