This prison service instruction (PSI) gives guidance on following fire safety regulations in prison.

It covers:

  • roles and responsibilities
  • fire risk assessments
  • planning
  • fire detection systems
  • emergency procedures
  • personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • communicating fire safety information to staff and prisoners

This is a current PSI. It came into effect on 31 March 2015.
