These standards should be used for publishing geospatial data in accordance with the National Data Strategy and in compliance with the recommendations of the Data Standards Authority.

The UK geospatial data standards register entries are agreed ways of sharing and accessing geographic information. They help ensure that the data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and re-usable adhering to the FAIR data principles.

The coordinate reference system section has been updated to include offshore coordinate reference systems for the marine applications in Great Britain and Ireland. New entries have also been added to the register to cover standards for data specification, data capture, data quality and preservation.
