Ofsted publishes an annual report looking at the effectiveness of welfare and care arrangements for recruits and trainees in Armed Forces initial training. Our reports draw on inspection evidence to:
- look at the level of progress in addressing issues of care, welfare and support for recruits and trainees during initial training in the Armed Forces, including examination of self-assessment by the establishments
- judge the effectiveness of the strategic and operational management of the care, welfare and support for recruits and trainees during initial training in the Armed Forces
- take account of the national care standards and safeguarding where relevant
