Self Assessment tax return forms
Download or request forms to help you send your tax return either online or by post.
You must send your tax return by the deadline or you’ll get a penalty.
This guide is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).
The main tax return (SA100)
You can file your Self Assessment tax return online.
If you need a paper form you can:
- download the SA100 tax return form
- call HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and ask for the SA100 tax return form
Getting help
You can:
- get advice from a professional, such as an accountant
- contact HMRC
- use the notes and helpsheets
Only fill in the short tax return (SA200) if HMRC sends it to you. You cannot download it, but you can read the guidance notes.
Extra sections
You might need to fill in more sections, known as ‘supplementary pages’, if you’re telling HMRC about these types of income:
- employees or company directors - SA102 supplementary pages
- self-employment - SA103S supplementary pages or SA103F supplementary pages
- business partnerships - SA104S supplementary pages or SA104F supplementary pages
- UK property income - SA105 supplementary pages
- foreign income or gains - SA106 supplementary pages
- capital gains - SA108 supplementary pages
- non-UK residents or dual residents - SA109 supplementary pages
Check the full list of supplementary pages to make sure you fill in the right sections if you’re sending your return by post.
Sending a tax return if you’re not an individual
There are special forms if you’re sending a tax return for a business partnership or non-resident company, or if you’re a trustee.

---|---|
Non-resident companies | SA700 form |
Partnership | SA800 form (including supplementary pages) |
