Britten-Norman Islander BN-2B-26, VP-MNT

Summary:

The aircraft developed a nosewheel shimmy during landing. Considering the risk of an overrun and mindful of the hazardous terrain at the end of the runway the pilot elected to steer the aircraft onto grass at the runway edge. The aircraft was undamaged and there were no injuries.
