DHC-8-311 Dash 8, G-NVSB

Summary:

The crew was flying a visual approach to Runway 08 at Isle of Man Airport. The aircraft descended below the notional glide path while it was still some distance from the runway. The investigation concluded that the aircraft was descended at an inappropriate point, causing it to fly well below the notional glide path for the runway in use and into conflict with terrain. The crew’s response to the subsequent EGPWS was delayed and not in accordance with their company’s instructions.
