Summary:

The solo student was taking off from Runway 08 at Caernarfon Airport to practise circuits. The pilot stated that, having reduced engine power shortly after takeoff, the right wing dropped and the aircraft started to descend. He applied full power in an attempt to arrest the descent, but the wing dropped further to the right before striking the runway surface and the aircraft fell onto its right side. The pilot, who was wearing a helmet and lap strap, was unhurt. He considered that the accident had been caused by an excessive reduction of engine power which had resulted in a nose-down attitude combined with a wing drop.
