P&M Aviation Ltd Pegasus Quik, G-RITT

Summary:

The instructor was planning on flying a dual instructional sortie with an inexperienced student. Prior to this accident the student pilot had not flown this type of aircraft and was not used to its responsive disk brakes. The student was pilot flying for the takeoff. During the takeoff roll, at about 30 mph, the he inadvertently applied the right foot brake firmly while making steering inputs. As a result the aircraft quickly ground looped to the right and rolled over. The aircraft came to rest on its left side facing the opposite direction. Both occupants vacated the aircraft uninjured. The aircraft was extensively damaged.
