Judicial Summary

The First-tier Tribunal purported to impose an indefinite prohibition on giving immigration advice and providing immigration services - no such power unless the Commissioner had laid a disciplinary charge - no charge laid.

At the permission hearing, the Commissioner argued that the First-tier Tribunal had power under rule 6(1) of the Tribunal Procedure (First-tier Tribunal) (General Regulatory Chamber) Rules 2009 to impose the prohibition - no such power authorised by the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007.
