Bird flu: near Loddon, South Norfolk, Norfolk (AIV 2025/12 formerly AIV SOS 2025/01)
Highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed in commercial poultry on 31 January 2025.

31 January 2025:
Following official testing at the premises, highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises near Loddon, South Norfolk, Norfolk (AIV 2025/12 formerly AIV SOS 2025/01).
All affected poultry on the premises are being humanely culled.
A 3km protection Zone and a 10km surveillance Zone have been put in place surrounding the premises.

Following the report of suspicion of highly pathogenic avian influenza in commercial poultry at a premises near Loddon, South Norfolk, Norfolk (AIV SOS 2025/01), a decision has been taken to pre-emptively cull the birds based on the clinical signs, post mortem findings and rapidly increasing mortality.
All affected poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.
A 3km temporary control zone A and a 10km temporary control zone B have been put in place surrounding the premises.
