Bird flu: near Wooler, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland (AIV 2023/57)
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry on 27 November 2023.
2 January 2024: Following successful completion of disease control activities and surveillance within the zone, the 10km surveillance zone has been revoked.
24 December 2023: Following successful completion of disease control activities and surveillance within the zone, the 3km protection zone has been lifted and the area that formed the protection zone becomes part of the surveillance zone.
All poultry on the premises have been humanely culled.
