Brain abscess, cyst or encephalitis and driving

You must tell DVLA if you have a brain abscess, cyst or encephalitis.

You can be fined up to £1,000 if you don’t tell DVLA about a medical condition that affects your driving. If you’re involved in an accident, you may be prosecuted.

Car or motorcycle licence

Fill in form B1 and send it to DVLA. The address is on the form.

Bus, coach or lorry licence

Fill in form B1V and send it to DVLA. The address is on the form.
