Project summary
Under the UK Internal Market Act 2020 (the Act), the OIM must, by 31 March 2023, and following that at least once every year, report on the operation of the UK internal market and developments as to the effectiveness of its operation. It is anticipated that this first report could, for example, set out broad trends in the UK Internal Market, including relevant regulatory changes. The report must be laid before the legislatures in each of the UK nations.
The OIM must also report at least once in every 5 years on the effectiveness of the operation of provisions of Parts 1 to 3 of the Act and related matters. More information on this report can be found on the OIM periodic report 2023 project page.
Further details on the OIM’s statutory reporting can be found in Guidance on the operation of the CMA’s UK Internal Market functions. The OIM’s first report providing an Overview of the UK Internal Market was published in March 2022.

The OIM may collect, use and share data when producing its annual and 5-yearly reports. This includes processing personal data for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Further details are set out in the CMA’s Personal Information Charter.
