BEIS decision on 2 FTA73 merger remedies
On 30 January 2017, the CMA advised the Secretary of State to remove 2 Fair Trading Act 1973 (FTA73) remedies given before 1 January 2006. On 11 March 2017, BEIS confirmed it has released the relevant parties from the remedies.

31 August 2016: The CMA is consulting on its intention to advise the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to remove 2 FTA73 remedies given before 1 January 2006. The decision document below sets out the CMA’s analysis and provisional advice.

14 June 2016: Following an invitation to comment, the CMA is reviewing 12 merger undertakings given before 1 January 2006. The decision document below lists the remedies to be reviewed.

Invitation to comment
22 April 2016: The CMA issued an invitation to comment on proposals to review up to 38 merger remedies put in place before 1 January 2006.
We are continuing to consider the remaining 26 merger remedies, and expect to announce further reviews later this year.
