The OFT investigated the anticipated pathology joint venture between Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust, The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust and West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

The OFT is considering whether this joint venture will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation has resulted, or may be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.
