Minor Veterinary Services in Andhra Pradesh: Stakeholder Consultations and Expert Group Deliberations

Abstract

A PPLPI project was conducted to improve the provision of animal health services in Andhra Pradesh, India, to the benefit of poor livestock farmers. Ongoing studies identified the increasingly important role of para-veterinarians in livestock service delivery, but also that the performance of such people in their role has been sub-standard. This report outlines the training and progress that has been made in advancing the provision of veterinary services.
