Abstract

This is the website for a meeting which had participants from 3 DFID programmes: Safe Passages to Adulthood; Opportunities and Choices; and Sexual and Reproductive Health: Policy and Practice. It holds the following information:

Background to the Workshop 'Getting research into Policy' including the aims of the workshop.

Day 1. From this section you can access all of the PowerPoint presentations made on the first day of the workshop and a resume of each speaker's presentations. The three sessions held on the first day were:
(1) Promoting the Use of Reproductive Health Research Results (Overview by P. Aggleton, Case Study presentations by C. Caceres and Y. Qazi);
(2) Communicating Reproductive Health Research Results (Overview by L. Ashford, Case Study Presentations by M. Wanjiru and A. Tamang);
(3) Evaluating the Quality and Impact of Reproductive Health Research (Overview by J. Bertrand, Case Study Presentations by I. Shah and S. Hall)

Day 2. This section presents the conclusions of the three working groups which examined the following:
(A) improving the dissemination of research
(B) guidelines to maximise the utilisation of research by policy makers
(C) methods for evaluating research
It also contains a summary of the next steps following the workshop.
