The Financial Services (Miscellaneous) (Amendment) (EU Exit) (No. 2) Regulations 2019

This instrument amends various UK legislation and retained EU law relating to financial services, in order to address deficiencies arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

Sifting committees’ recommendation

The Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee agreed with the government that this statutory instrument does not have to have a debate in parliament, though one may still occur. However, the European Statutory Instrument Committee disagreed with the government and recommended that this statutory instrument needs to be debated in parliament.
