CLOSED: Support into Employment in Coast to Capital (OC04S21P1802)
Call to run a project that supports COVID recovery by preparing people to seek work in a competitive job market and providing access to training for jobseekers to obtain the skills, experience and/or qualifications in demand by employers.
This call is now closed. Please do not submit and application for this call. The information provided on this page is for reference purposes only.
Details
The economically active population in the Coast to Capital region has already been directly impacted by COVID-19. As the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) are brought to a close in April along with the Government’s moratorium on commercial landlords seeking eviction notices, the unemployment rate is predicted to rise significantly
This call for proposals aims to support unemployed individuals into work. This could be through one of the interventions outlined in Coast to Capital’s Skills Strategy and Action Plan:
- The development a broad range of business skills, to include digital skills
- Advice, training and support to develop entrepreneurial skills for unemployed people to become self-employed and promoting self-employment as a viable route, including for school and college leavers and university graduates, and/or ‘Olderpreneur’ programme for 50+.
- Provide employability training and guaranteed interviews or a job matching service
Projects could deliver activity outside of the above interventions as long as it supports delivery of the following priorities of the skills strategy:
Priority 1a, Starting out in Work - A renewed focus on getting young people in the class of 2020 and beyond into work to avoid a generation of high youth unemployment.
Priority 1d, Getting back into work - Supporting people back into work, specifically those who have lost their jobs as a result of COVID, with a focus on those who may face a particular disadvantage such as such as younger and older workers, those with low level skills or in places significantly affected by the crisis.
Projects should cover all geographical areas of Coast to Capital, deliver provision at all levels, including basic skills, for unemployed and inactive people and ensure that provision is accessible for all ages, including young people entering the labour market and people 50+.
