Details
Youth unemployment continues to be of concern in Coventry and Warwickshire with rates varying significantly across the area. As a result of these variations Coventry was awarded Youth Employment Initiative monies. This call is intended to provide complementary provision in Warwickshire as well as provide opportunities for non YEI eligible delivery in Coventry.
The CWLEP would wish to see provision that can provide support to individuals in a way that is tailored, personalised and flexible so that the areas complex difficulties may be addressed.
Priority activities, focussing in the CWLEP area, will be:
- Expanding and improving the quality of careers advice for young people.
- Increasing young people’s exposure to industry including via traineeships and apprenticeships.
- Tailored intervention, including coaching and mentoring or support with transport costs.
- Improved employability skills.
- Supporting interventions for young people, especially those with multiple barriers to their participation, including care leavers, lone parents, offenders and those with learning disabilities/ difficulties.
Project activity must be easily accessible across the whole of the county. Applicants should demonstrate how they will ensure effective coverage for young people across Warwickshire including its more rural areas.

Value
Approximately £2,000,000 of ESF is available.
Deadlines
Full application deadline: 11 July 2019
Completion date
The project must be completed no later than 3 years and 6 months after the proposed start date.
