This call is now closed. Please do not submit an application for this call. The information provided on this page is for reference purposes only.

Details

Since the launch of the ESIF 2014-2020 programme the South East Midlands area has enjoyed a period of sustained growth. The employment market has improved and job density in several local areas is approximately one job per person of working-age. Current forecasts are for continued improvement in the immediate short term. SEMLEP statistics in most areas and overall match or exceed national averages.

However, there are extremely low rates of both economic activity and employment in 16 – 19 year-olds could be attributed to continuing education. The rates for both economic activity and employment for those people aged 20 – 24 are seven points below the South East Midlands LEP (SEMLEP) working age average in both categories. This call targeted at young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET will help to focus priorities on supporting young people to enter training and employment.
