Abstract

The issues of data privacy and the processing of user data have attracted a considerable amount of interest and research from a wide range of different perspectives, including consumer protection, legal, behavioural economics, information processing and psychology.

In order to have a comprehensive understanding of the research about data privacy and data processing, we have carried out a review of the publicly available consumer survey data and the relevant academic research. The purpose of the review is to establish an evidence base to inform our understanding of these issues.
