How much it costs
The vessel traffic services (VTS) fee is £57 including postage to a UK address. If you want your documents returned to an EU or EEA address it’s £77 and it’s £87 for anywhere in the rest of the world.
What you’ll need to apply
What you need to supply when you apply for any VTS licences depends on what type of application you’re making. See the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s (MCA) VTS application form for full information.
How long it lasts
You’ll need to revalidate your VTS certification logbook at least every 5 years.
What happens next
If you’ve supplied an email address to the MCA, you will receive an email stating that your application, and any supporting documents you have sent, have been received.
The MCA aims to assess VTS logbook and endorsement applications within 14 days of receiving an accurately completed application and the relevant supporting documents.
