Details
This report provided the best knowledge and science for assessing the effects of flood management activities on entire ecosystems, known as Broad Scale Ecosystem Impact Modelling (BSEIM). This report is highly beneficial for anyone involved in this kind of work.
It includes guidance, data sources and modelling techniques for professionals designing:
- Catchment Flood Management Plans (CFMP)
- Shoreline Management Plans (SMP)
- Coastal Habitat Management Plans (CHaMP)
The research was designed to deal with some of the problems encountered by professionals carrying out BSEIM activities. This included a lack of practical guidance and ways of integrating the results into flood risk management plans. It used case studies to demonstrate ways of carrying out these activities effectively.
The project started in 2004 and was completed in 2005 at a cost of £125,925.
