Hurricane Beryl

A major hurricane is currently moving through the Caribbean. On the forecast track, the centre is expected to reach the Yucatan peninsula early morning on Friday 5 July. The system could bring heavy rainfall, strong winds and possible flooding to the northern parts of Belize, starting on the night of Thursday 4 July and continuing through Friday 5 July. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from Belize City to Corozal, including the islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.

You should follow and monitor local and international weather updates from the US National Hurricane Center’s regional map and the National Meteorological Service of Belize and follow advice from the National Emergency Management Organisation.
