Detail of outcome

We received 54 responses to this call for evidence. We are working internationally with support from industry to develop standardised methods for measuring emissions from tyre and brake wear. This will enable the development of international emission standards for tyre and brake wear.

We are considering what further action to take to address emissions from these sources informed by the AQEG report.

Call for evidence description

We are seeking evidence on the airborne particulate matter emissions from brakes, tyres and road surface wear.

These non-exhaust transport emissions will become increasingly important as we move towards cleaner vehicle engines.

We are looking for ways to reduce emissions from this source, in line with our emission reduction commitments.
