Following a wide-ranging programme of external engagement for this call for evidence, we received 89 responses. Of these, 52 were from UK producers, and 37 were from other parties.

The provisional findings were published in July 2018. The call for evidence was then re-opened for a further month. It closed on 24 August 2018, and the government issued its final findings on 25 February 2019.

DIT has now published the provisional findings of this consultation. The provisional findings explain which existing EU anti-dumping or anti-subsidy measures met the government’s criteria for being maintained when the UK begins to operate an independent trade remedies framework. The ones that did not meet the criteria will not be maintained when the UK begins to operate an independent trade remedies framework. All maintained measures will be reviewed to ensure they are suitable for the UK’s market.

The provisional findings are based on evidence from businesses, validated through reputable publicly available sources. The clear and objective criteria for our decisions were explained in the call for evidence.

We are now inviting anyone with an interest to review these provisional findings and provide any further evidence which could affect our decisions. This includes providing an application to maintain measures covering products produced in the UK, if one was not provided earlier.

Anyone wishing to provide further information or an application should look at the original call for evidence, which explains what information we need. The government will announce the conclusions of the call for evidence by the end of the year.
