The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a consultation on the proposed conduct requirement relating to near field communication (NFC) access on iOS following this initial call for evidence.

Apple is designated as having strategic market status in the provision of its mobile platform.
We sought views on key issues relating to NFC access on iOS, including the technical method for access and the pricing of such access.
Apple confirmed that any non-disclosure agreement a party may have in place with Apple should not prevent responses to this call for evidence. Apple confirmed that it will not use any confidentiality provision with a party to prevent them from responding.
