Call for evidence description

The TAC seeks submissions on whether provisions in the agreement that relate to trade in agricultural products may affect the maintenance of UK regulatory standards in relation to (any of the following):

  • animal or plant life or health
  • animal welfare
  • environmental protection

In particular, the TAC seeks submissions regarding differences between the relevant standards applicable to activities in CPTPP members and the UK.

In accordance with the TAC’s terms of reference, submissions should not address human food safety, as this is covered by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

You should:

  • send your submissions as a Microsoft Word document
  • list your website (if an organisation), along with an email address and a named contact

We may cite your submission in our advice. If you would like all or part of your submission to be treated as confidential, contact the TAC secretariat on TACsecretariat@trade.gov.uk. The TAC has full discretion to decide on the relevance of submissions.
