Detail of outcome

Following this call for evidence, the government has published its triennial review of the 4 pensions bodies. The review concludes that the Pensions Regulator, the Pensions Advisory Service, the Pensions Ombudsman and the Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman will all continue in their current form.

The government is satisfied that the organisations are fit for purpose and are delivering what they were set up to do effectively – essential to maintaining consumer confidence in pensions.

Call for evidence description

In this call for evidence we invited those with an interest in the functions covered by the 4 pensions bodies to contribute evidence to the review. Respondents were asked for their views on the following specific areas:

  • the organisations and their functions individually
  • how their roles fit together and any gaps or overlaps that may result

Responses were not expected to cover all of the four organisations – comments which focused on a single organisation were just as welcome.
