£14.4m for new transport hub in Dundee (Levelling Up Fund 2)
In Dundee, £14.4 million from the Levelling Up Fund has provisionally been allocated to redevelop a dated multi-storey car park into a sustainable transport hub.
Sustainable transport facility
The Bell Street Green Transport Hub will help to deliver a city centre where people want to live, work and socialise. The shell of the building will remain the same, but the new facility created inside will include:
- enhanced links to the city centre through an upgraded underpass
- a large parking area for accessible electric vehicles
- electric vehicle chargers
- an information point for users
- large scale cycle storage
- car club bays
- e-bike hire
Connecting communities to Dundee city centre
The new hub will help connect remote communities in Dundee to their city centre that includes:
- an award-winning waterfront development
- leisure and culture offerings
- employment opportunities
A future proofed facility
Charging for electric vehicles and e-bikes will be installed and powered by renewable energy sources.
