- create up to 3,000 jobs in the area
The redevelopment of the site will:
- provide crucial regeneration for the area
- help level up East Birmingham and North Solihull
- support Birmingham City Council’s plans for the city
Opinions on plan benefits
Councillor Ian Ward, Leader of the City Council said:
East Birmingham is a growing and dynamic place.
The creation of a high quality and sustainable employment site at Bordesley Park, with opportunities for the local community at its heart, is a fundamental part of this vision.
MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill, the Rt Hon. Liam Byrne MP also praised the project:
Bordesley Park will be transformed with new jobs and new homes.
[The project is] located cheek by jowl with the city centre and the new HS2 Curzon Rail Station. The project is a game changer for our Green Inclusive Growth Strategy for East Birmingham creating thousands of new jobs in the heart of Britain’s worst unemployment hotspot.
