£17 million regeneration in Attercliffe
Attercliffe in Sheffield has suffered economic decline in recent years but is now forging a new identity. An allocation of over £17 million from the Levelling Up Fund will support regeneration works in the area.
Delivering the National Centre for Child Health Technology
Plans for the funding include delivery of this long-planned national centre for Child Health Technology. The site will help create high value childcare products by bringing together:
- patients and families
- the healthcare industry
- medical professionals
- clinicians
The centre will encourage further investment in the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
Better connections between high street and Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park
Plans for the funding will improve connectivity between these areas by:
- investing in street improvements
- creating a new cycle hub
- upgrading tram stops
High Street cultural improvements
Two neglected heritage buildings will be refurbished to provide:
- a multipurpose auditorium
- shared studios
- event spaces
