£300,000 re-opens Hartcliffe City Farm
Hartcliffe City Farm closed its doors to the public in 2021. It is now back up and running after receiving £300,000 from the Community Ownership Fund. The investment will help secure the future of the farm in South Bristol.
A thriving community hub
Windmill City Farm is the organisation leading the development. This is in partnership with South Bristol charity nicknamed the ‘Heart of BS13’.
The organisation aims to turn the farm into a community hub with:
- open space for outdoor learning
- gardens and ponds
- access to animals
Fresh local vegetables are also grown on the site and sold to local people at the farm café or in boxes. This provides a source of income for the site.
Community Ownership Fund investment
The funding will support vital development of the farm’s infrastructure.
This will include:
- ensuring that the farm is accessible to all
- plumbing
- wiring
