Levelling up allocation of almost £50 million for South Derby growth zone

Derbyshire has been provisionally allocated nearly £50 million for significant transport improvements in round 1 of the Levelling Up Fund.

Road improvements

Plans include a new junction on the A50 that will:

  • provide connections to East Midlands Freeport and the Toyota site next to junction 4
  • unlock land for major development in the South Derby Growth Zone

New development in South Derby

Plans also include the creation of a new link road from the junction into the Infinity Garden Village and the Rolls Royce Factory.

This funding will help unlock the potential of the Infinity Garden Village, which will include:

  • pubs and restaurants
  • a community hall
  • a primary school
  • shops

The Infinity Garden village aims to deliver 4,500 new homes.
