£7 million funding for Newcastle’s historic Grainger Market
Newcastle has been awarded £7 million from the Levelling Up Fund to secure the future of one of its most important cultural assets, the Grainger Market.
Future proofing the market
The Grainger Market is the original retail heart of Newcastle and has served the public for almost 200 years. This Grade I listed building, one of Newcastle’s best loved historic sites has continued to be one of the few places that can provide fresh and affordable produce in the city.
The Levelling Up Fund investment will help this important and much-loved site.
