Gloucester city centre’s £20 million regeneration
Three projects in Gloucester were allocated £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund.
Debenhams redevelopment
Plans for the funding include the redevelopment of the former Debenhams store on the corner of The Oxeblade and Northgate Street.
The University of Gloucester’s plans for the building include:
- an information centre for 4,700 students and up to 450 staff from the university
- a digitally enabled public library
- a drop-in wellbeing centre
Support for businesses
Funds are also allocated to support The Forge digital innovation and incubation centre. This hub will provide support to small and medium-sized businesses in the area.
