Area SEND statistics

Statistics from Ofsted on inspections of local area services for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Area SEND inspections take place during the usual school term time, although it is worth noting that these vary slightly across the country. Due to the relatively small number of inspections undertaken each term and the fluctuating dates each year, we intend to wait for all reports to be published before producing any statistics.

Official statistics or management information will normally be published 3 times a year and provide an update on inspection and revisit outcomes.

Update 17 May 2024

We published the outcomes of these inspections as management information in November 2023 under the new inspection framework. We will publish the first official statistics release in June 2024.
