Beaver licences

Licences you need for actions that affect beavers and when you’ll need to use them.

Eurasian beavers are protected as a European protected species in England.

Email wildlifelicensing@naturalengland.org if you cannot find a licence that covers the action you need to take.

Manage beavers without a licence

You may need to manage beavers on your land. There are certain management activities you can carry out without a licence.
