Chief Medical Officer (CMO): annual reports
The CMO publishes independent reports and presents them to the government.
In their annual report, the CMO presents information or ‘surveillance’ about the health of England’s population to the government.
The CMO may give recommendations to government, and individual organisations, to make improvements to the public health system.
