Determination of mycotoxins: a research project
This research project aims to develop improved methods for the determination of mycotoxins.
Building on the success of the work conducted in the 2008-2011 Government Chemist programme, this project aims to establish the relationship between spiking contact times and the recovery of aflatoxins for a range of matrices commonly encountered for referee analysis.
This will enable the Government Chemist to make a decision and advise accordingly on whether the current public analyst practise of spiking with a contact time of only a few hours is a contribution to the differences in results obtained by different laboratories, which leads to disputes.
The project runs from 2011 to 2014.
