The information for the Firefighters’ Pension Fund is made up from 2 schemes. The Firefighters Pension Scheme (FPS) and the New Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (NFPS) are both statutory, tax-approved, unfunded, final-salary occupational pension schemes.
On 5 January 2016 responsibility for fire and rescue policy transferred from the Department for Communities and Local Government to the Home Office.
