If you're visiting an EU country
To get medically necessary state healthcare when visiting EU countries, you’ll need a UK-issued Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). You can find out about applying for and using a GHIC or EHIC on the NHS website. If you’re visiting Ireland or Spain, see the documents below.
